ND Courts Guardianship Program
Develop an accessible and interactive online guardian training program.
KAT collaborated with the North Dakota Courts system to help revitalize their current guardianship training courses with a fresh new look, more engaging content and up-to-date legal information.
KAT successfully produced an easy-to-navigate and comprehensive learning management system and courses designed for anyone looking to become a qualified guardian.
In order to achieve the desired goal, KAT proposed a completely new learning management system, alongside 2 full courses and 3 mini-courses. Each course was created thoughtfully to include more interactive elements and over 15 video segments to break up the content in an engaging way for course takers. The mini-courses provide additional resources on important topics such as mental health decision-making and next steps for a new guardian.
To ensure ND Courts were supported during the transition to a new learning management system, KAT also proposed hours of ongoing technical support and reporting.
Since its launch:
- 3,200 people have completed the course
- 2,600 people completing the adult guardianship course
- 600 people completing the minor guardianship course.
- In 2023, the site had 45,000 visitors from North Dakota alone, with thousands from other states
